Street Games Series

How to Infiltrate the Most Dangerous City in the Country, Find What is Hidden, and Come Out on Top -- 4 Tips

This is the premise of the Street Games Series. Kyra Roberts must become a part of the underbelly of Abstreuse City, one of the murder capitals of the country, find her brother, who's disappeared into a gang there, and get them both out alive. In case you ever find yourself in a similar situation, here are some tips from Kyra's experience.

Awesome Disguise
1. Have an amazing disguise -- One that even the easy-on-the-eyes detective you cross paths with won't see through. Make it into an entire alter ego: different name, voice, clothing, the whole nine yards.

2. Be smarter than those around you --You're going to be living on the street. Do your research, keep your eyes open, and consider all possibilities in every situation. Mental acuity is key here, so make sure you're taking care of yourself physically as well. This takes determination and conscious effort, but it's very doable.

3. Learn to read body language -- In order to interact with others such as the homeless, street urchins, gang members, and prostitutes, learn to read their body language and find ways to relate to them. This will help them open up to you and help you find what you're looking for.

4. Don't be afraid to enlist help -- Local cops, community center leaders, etc. can be a great asset to you. Just make sure anyone you take into your confidence is trustworthy. Also, you might want to keep a hotel room so you always have a safe haven to go to when you need a rest from the twistedness of the Slip Mire--your primary searching ground.

Make sure to bring plenty of determination and a weapon to defend yourself. And good luck to you. You may be your brother's only hope!

Why should YOU read Dark Remnants?

"This woman understands people on a mentalist level...She's got steel in her spine. This is the woman that I think we need to see more of in fiction...." --Rebecca Alora of Vicariously
"What made the book stands out in the crime thriller genre, is its characters. Kyra made it to my 'best heroine' list...Gabe Nichols is also a very special character with secrets of his own...I mean, the twists! Will they ever stop?" --Girl in the Woods Reviews
"It's so rare to come across a female lead with so much guts, and drive. When the reason behind her actions was finally revealed, I was floored." --Bound by Words
"I LOVED this book. It had suspense, a hot guy, a strong, brave, fierce woman, and a whole lot of danger. The writing was perfect." --Whit of Whit's Book World

Dark Remnants (Street Games, Book 1)

In the most dangerous city in the country, one controlled by a sadistic gang called the Sons of Ares, Kyra Roberts is searching the deep places for someone…

Kyra has come to Abstreuse city to find someone she’s lost, but walking the underbelly—a dark alley system residents call the Slip Mire—even in disguise, is rife with dangers. Kyra must stay on her toes if she intends to live. After crossing paths several times with the same detective, she wonders if his work and hers might be connected.

Gabe Nichols has worked homicide in Abstreuse for three years. Dead prostitutes and gang violence are part of the night shift. When a woman who looks like a street junkie but acts like an intellectual saves his life, he’s intrigued. Another woman shows up at his crime scene, and Gabe’s instincts kick into high gear when she clams up. Two cases involving strange women who won’t tell what they know are too coincidental.

If Gabe and Kyra can’t find a way to collaborate, they may not live to see the sunrise. Doomed, like so many others, to become gray, unmarked graves in a forgotten fracture of the Slip Mire.

Click the links below to join Kyra and Gabe on their heart-pounding, gut-twisting adventure! It's a journey you'll not soon forget.
