Welcome to Week 11 of the Mermaid Lit Summer Reading Challenge! Once again, I don't have a review this week. As much as I'm loving these mermaid reads, the challenge is almost over (just a couple weeks to go) and I'll be kind of relieved when it is. The end of summer is proving ridiculously busy (mostly because I have a sister who's getting married next month) and I'm just not getting my normal amount of reading done. I got about half-way through this week's mermaid read, and am loving it, but will have to wait until next week to review it. So, the mermaid reviews will return next week. If you have one of your own, feel free to link up below and be sure to visit any others to see what they thought of their reads for this week! You may join the challenge anytime you like. See rules HERE.

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What do you do with your books when you are done reading them?

With me, it depends on the book. Of course anything on my kindle just sort of sits there. For my print books, I sometimes do giveaways. Often, if I find a book I know would appeal to a friend or family member, I  keep it for the next birthday or Christmas. (Shopping for presents in advance. :D) There are plenty I can't stand to part with, though, and they sit on my bookshelf until I get around to picking them up again.

What do YOU do with your books after you read them?

  1. Yeah mine mostly go on shelves. If I didn't like it I put it in a donate pile that either goes to the library or very rarely a book drive, but haven't had one of those in years!

  2. Hopping through. I don't give many books away but if I do like it, I'll save it for my parents and husband. Otherwise, I hoard them.

  3. Yes, I have trouble parting with my books too. That's why my one book shelf is full and I need a new shelf besides my drawer top space. But yes I do giveaway some of the books, that is if I have extra of the same copy~ :)

    1. Yeah I have like three full shelves of books plus more stacked up in other places. It's scary. But a lot of those I either haven't read in years or haven't read at all yet, so I can't give them up. :D Thanks Kipha!

    1. Yeah we probably wouldn't be part of the bookish community if we didn't. :D Thanks Marilyn. Happy Friday to you too. :D

  5. For my kindle books, I delete them after reading/reviewing. If I really like them, then I'll buy a physical copy. I've bought quite a few books for friends/family, but usually I don't want to part with my copy.

  6. Sounds like you're way better than I am at parting with your books! What a great idea though, to share them as gifts! Then you at least know they found a good home!

  12. I usually feel like I'm deserting a close friend if I give away books, although I should learn to do it more often! My bookshelf is bursting! Following on Google+/GFC!

  13. I should probably give away books that I know I'm not going to reread...I just can't bring myself to part with them though! I do lend books to my friends, so I guess that kind of counts?
New GFC follower, and here's my FF post .

  14. I keep my favorites and lend them out. My friends call my library Elizabeth's Lending Library.

The ones that aren't my favorite go to our library's book sale or for our book month sway at my book club.
