Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

What are YOUR top TBR reads for the summer?
Top Ten Books at the Top of my Summer TBR List (in no particular order). All covers courtesy of goodreads.com unless otherwise posted.
Books I Want to Read Before the Movies Come Out in the Fall:
10. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card--This is one classic I've just never gotten around to reading.
9. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare--I've said this before, but I feel like I'm the only person on earth who hasn't read Cassandra Clare. Definitely reading this one before seeing the film!
8. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins--Okay, I've read this one. It would be a re-read for me, but I feel like I've forgotten a lot so I'd like a refresher read before seeing the movie adaptation.
Books that have been sitting on my shelf/kindle forever that I just really hope to get to in the next couple of months:
7. Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer--Book 2 of this was nominated for a best historical award on goodreads.com last year, and I think the plot sounds amazing, so I want to read book 1 so I can get to book 2. :D
6. Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson--It's been on my kindle forever, and I hear it's great!
5. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss--Have seriously had this on my shelf for like seven years. Dah! Really need to read it before it decays!
4. The Last Waltz by G.G. Vandagriff--My sister read it and says it's the kind of story I'd really like. She would totally know!
As most of you know, I'm hosting the Mermaid Lit Summer Read-Along Challenge. (You can still join in if you're so inclined, by the way.) These are the next mermaid reads I'm most looking forward to:
2. Mirage by Jenn Reese--Ditto #3.
1. Forgive my Fins by Tera Lynn Childs--I've just heard good things about the series.
What are YOUR top TBR reads for the summer?
The Girl Of Fire and Thorns is really amazing! I still have to read Forgive My Fins, it's one of those I've had forever but have been neglecting. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to get round to reading them! Great list.
ReplyDeleteAwesome list! I picked Ender's Game as well.
ReplyDeleteI loved City of Bones and RTHG series! Happy reading!

I read the Hunger Games and it was so good I'd love to read the sequel. I'm afraid it would ruin the movie, so I'm holding back.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll reread Catching Fire before seeing the film too - good idea! :)
ReplyDeleteMy (first!) TTT :)
Oh I need to read Ender's Game and The Name of The Wind at some point too, they've been sitting on my shelves for a while now, along with all the other long neglected books.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
I have read City of Bones, but that was ages ago, so I really want to go back to it and then continue with the series since it seems that everyone loves those books. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
WOW, all those books are becoming movies that will be out in the fall? I only knew about Catching Fire and City of Bones. I am usually having a hard time with movies based on books I enjoyed... the characters never look the same in my head as they do on the screen :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my TTT post earlier. Happy reading.
Knowing your taste, you will LOVE Ender's Game. I just can't envision a world where Liesel doesn't love Ender. I'm looking forward to that review!
ReplyDeleteI've had Name of the Wind on my bookshelf for EVER, too. Really need to read that one. But I just read Ender's Game recently, and I didn't think I would like it... but it absolutely blew my mind. I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me how much I want to read Cassandra Clare. I've been meaning to try her, but haven't.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Literary, etc!
Great list! I love Cassandra Clare! Love all of them. I didn't love Name of the Wind, but it was still worth a read.
ReplyDeleteOmg, you have to read Rothfuss, he's amazing!!! I also haven't read City of Bones though, don't worry :D
ReplyDeleteSoooo many good books here!! I need to read pretty much all of these too!
ReplyDeleteI just read City of Bones a couple months ago and it's the only book of hers I have read so far, so don't feel bad. We all have a few books or series we haven't read that is seems like everyone else has. :) Have a great Summer!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Tuesday Post.
